Description: This peak is on the Adirondack Mountain Club's Heart Lake Property and you will need to pay a parking fee. Due to this being a shorter hike, try to arrive after 1pm to take advantage of the discounted half day parking rate of $7 ($3 for ADK members). We recommend going up the steeper short-trail and down the more gradual long-trail, the intersection between the two is well marked. The long-trail is currently being worked on to bring it up to sustainable trail standards and is slated to be completed in fall of 2023. The summit has outstanding views of the High Peaks to the south, which are the headwaters of the Ausable River. After your hike, enjoy the view of Heart Lake from one of numerous benches along its shore, stop into the High Peaks Information Center, or grab a bite to eat from the Hungry Hiker.
